Antonio Tarver is an American former professional boxer and boxing commentator. He has competed as a light heavyweight, cruiserweight, and heavyweight. Tarver has competed in world championships matches, fighting for the WBA, WBC, IBF and Ring magazine titles. Tarver has been apart of a historic rivalry against Roy Jones Jr. which turned into a three-fight series. He’s also boxed against Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson twice. As an amateur, Tarver represented the United States in the Olympics, which he earned a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division. He also represented the United States in the World Championships winning a gold medal in the light heavyweight division and again won a gold medal at the Pan American Games in the light heavyweight division. Apart from his career in the ring, Tarver has acted as Mason “The Line” Dixon in the film “Rocky Balboa” as co star to Sylvester Stallone.
